Get into a whole new world at Impact

IT companies have turned out in full force at the BOI Fair 2011 to display their latest technologies. The fair is being held since January 5 at Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre, Muang Thong Thani. and ends on January 20

The theme of BOI Fair 2011 is "Going Green for the Future", with the objective of combining economic development and environmental preservation to achieve sustainable development of the country. It also aims to encourage economic growth and domestic investment; and to restore Thailand's stability to all Thais and the global.

HDD technology

Western Digital, located in the HDD Clustering Zone in Challenger Hall 3, has been showing its prowess under the concept of "The Heart Disk Drive". The company is showcasing its achievements that have contributed to its recognition for industrial excellence since it started business in Thailand nine years ago. The six miracles are: green and clean technology today and in the future; Thailand Prime Minister's Best Industry Award in 2011; in-depth R&D collaboration with the government and universities; happy workplace; first full product R&D in hard disk drive in Thailand; and size - Thailand's and the world's largest hard disk drive manufacturer with the largest market share. These miracles are presented through multimedia tools inside the booth.

Western Digital is also introducing the personal cloud storage, a solution which allows users to keep all digital content in one safe place on their home network by using the My Book Live network drive.

Besides, the connected-life concept will demonstrate how easy it is for users to access their content stored in the home network within and outside the home from any devices and at any time with Western Digital Photos and 2go apps.

Canon technology

Canon is showcasing its products under the concept of "office of the future technology" and under the "One for All Delight". The Canon Pavilion is spread over 1,000 square metres. There are eight exhibition zones. The first zone is the His Majesty King Bhumibhol Gallery. Here, pictures of His Majesty are exhibited. The zone features exclusive pictures of the King's work on the Royal Project, which HSH Prince Bhisatej Rajani, Director of the Royal Project Foundation, has specially given to Canon to be exhibited in the Fair.

The second zone is the Hi-tech Canon Zone. This zone highlights Canon's principal factories in Thailand where Canon inkjet printers are manufactured and marketed worldwide. The third zone is called Wonder Zone. Here, the dazzling world of Avatar is simulated for visitors to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience of video recording in a world of fantasy.

The Leisure Zone enters the Canon Imaging World in a leisurely atmosphere of outlets such as mini-theatre, wedding studio, and printing shop. Visitors will be delighted by Canon's products and imaging solutions to printing photos of all sizes.

The Simplicity Zone is about the technology of the future, Canon's solutions to document management, cloud connect, uniFlow and Therefore software in Canon's multi-function photocopiers caters to all office functions and increases productivity of any company.

The Delight of Living Zone gives visitors a glimpse of modern-day lifestyles where Canon's various products fit right in and help fulfill all those lifestyles. The CSR Zone proudly presents Canon's social activities under the Clean Energy for Green World campaign. The Exposure Zone is a watchtower installed with the world's longest "Super Telephoto" lens and is erected on the second floor of the Canon Pavilion for visitors to admire and take bird's-eye-view photos of the Fair.

Samsung 'Smarter Life'

Samsung opens up a world of innovations for "Samsung Smarter Life" and gives Thais a premiere of TLCD and Nano Chip.

Under the "Samsung Join in Smarter Life" concept, it showcases more than 100 innovations for the future, presented in four featured zones of the four elements that incorporate the Smarter Life according to Samsung's definition: Innovation, Design, Convergence, and Greenovation.

In the Innovation Zone, visitors will be given a totally new experience of Samsung Transparent LCD panel, a spell-binding innovation for tomorrow.

The zone also introduces Samsung Smart Chip, which enables Samsung designers to fully use their creative potential and create products that are sleeker, smaller and slimmer. In addition, there are two highlights, including full 3D audiovisuals experience from Samsung 3D technology along with Samsung Smart TV, Samsung MultiView MV800 with unique flip-out display to capture images from any angle, and Samsung Galaxy Tab for an enriched on-the-go lifestyle. There is also Samsung NaviBot to show how this smart vacuum-cleaning robot learns the floor layout in your home and automatically keeps the house clean even when you're away.

The Design Zone showcases Samsung's award-winning products such as the side-by-side refrigerator, the light-and-slim Samsung Notebook Series 9, Samsung Galaxy S II, a light and slim smart phone with comfortably big and clear display screen, Samsung Rose, the masterpiece of floor standing air-conditioners that drew their inspiration from the beauty of blooming roses, and the world's slimmest 3D Blu-ray player in fascinating metallic design, just 0.09 inch thin.

The Convergence Zone introduces visitors to the Samsung Smart Home, a living concept for the near future in which all home appliances are completely connected wirelessly via Samsung's technology.

The Greenovation Zone, it shows the company's care for the environment.

LG Smilenovation

The LG Smilenovation Pavilion gives consumers the opportunity to be among the first to experience its world-first technologies in an interactive, hands-on way. For example, LG's full suite of 3D solutions, including the LG D2000 Monitor - the world's first glasses-free 3D monitor utilising eye-tracking technology - and LG's 72-inch full-LED 3D TV, the largest full LED 3D TV ever shown in the region.

The pavilion is divided into two key zones - Smart Technology and Innovative Green Living.

The Smart Technology zone includes highlighted products from LG's home entertainment and mobile communications businesses, which include the LG 72" full LED 3D TV, the world's largest full LED 3D TV, as well as the LG Optimus LTE, which supports 4G connectivity. It is also the first time in Thailand that LG will showcase its ground-breaking, full suite of 3D solutions, including its Cinema 3D TV with film patterned retarder technology, 3D home theatre, 3D projector, Optimus 3D smart phone, and the world's first glasses-free 3D monitor.

The 'Innovative Green Living' zone will feature LG's smart appliances and green technologies, including the company's THINQ™ technology, which is being showcased for the first time in Asia after its initial launch at IFA in Berlin, Germany. THINQ™ technology allows consumers to manage refrigerators, washing machines, ovens and HOM-BOT, robotic vacuum cleaners via a smart network.

The BOI Fair 2011 is Thailand's largest exhibition fair organised by the office of the Board of Investment. The fair encompasses both outdoor and indoor areas over 240,000 square metres.

The fair was originally scheduled to be held in November, but was postponed to January 2012 due to the recent flood crisis.
