TICTA winners named

The annual awards, aimed at promoting and encouraging local software development, have been hosted since 2003 by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, the Software Industry Promotion Agency and the Association of Thai ICT Industry.

This year's TICTA winners are from categories including application and infrastructure tools, communication applications, e-inclusion and e-community, e-learning, e-government and services, financial industry, e-health and industrial, media and entertainment, research and development, tourism and hospitality, start-up companies, secondary-student projects and tertiary-student projects.

The winners are:

Application and infrastructure tools

NetkaView Network Manager

This is an application designed and developed to help telecommunication operators to better manage their networks. It offers solutions to technology departments for managing faults, performance, configurations, accounting and security over the network.

This system is being used by many Internet-service providers such as CAT IDC, True Internet Gateway and KSC.

Communication applications

Shoppening

This application is designed to assist shopping lovers to keep in touch with all current promotions. It offers a shopping guide, mobile coupons and a "friend finder" that lets shoppers know what promotions are happening, no matter whether they promote shopping complexes, restaurants, cafes, fashion stores, shows, concerts, airlines or hotels.

E-inclusion and e-community

Intelligent Bus System

This solution was developed to give managers of public bus services better control of their bus routes in order to improve service quality. It provides real-time positions of the buses on the street and gives fleet managers useful information with which to make better management decisions.

E-learning

co-LAB

This is a collaborative learning platform that uses multi-touch technology to allow students to learn in a collaborative environment.

E-government and services

Infopro School MIS

This is an application to assist schools' operations and the management of their information such as student information, academic records, finance and accounting. Currently, about 300 schools have deployed this system.

Financial industry

Active Core Leasing System

This application was developed to help hire-purchase and financing firms to offer leasing services with a better leasing system. It is being used in many financial institutions such as the Government Savings Bank, the Islamic Bank of Thailand, KTB Leasing, Siam Kubota Leasing and Rajathain Leasing.

E-health and industrial

Builk.com

This is the first free software-as-a-service (SaaS) application for construction industries in the Asia region. The beta version of Builk.com was launched last year. It currently offers five modules, including cost control, company profile, site manager, payment track and advertising. More than 2,000 companies are now using this software.

Media and entertainment

King Naresuan Online

This is a role-playing game that follows the story of people living in the Ayutthaya Kingdom, in the era of King Naresuan. Players can create their own character to live and fight in the game.

Research and development

iFakeProof

This product was developed so that product owners can generate and install an encrypted iFakeProof code on their goods. Consumers can check authenticity at the point of purchase. The code is never duplicated beyond each package or piece.

Tourism and hospitality

Galileo Direct

This is an Internet booking engine developed to give travel agencies a better system of serving online customers. Currently, it is being used by more than 200 travel websites in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Start-up company

Interactive eXperience System (iXs)

This is an integrated solution based on technologies that create presentation systems for promoting products and services at events or exhibitions.

Secondary-student project

FaceBiz Website

The concept of the FaceBiz Website is social networking for business. It was designed and developed to allow businesses to promote their products and services over the network.

Tertiary-student project

Unawakening

This application was developed by Mahidol University's ICT Faculty with the aim of helping people who have eye or vision problems to use computers as easily as people with normal eyesight.

The winner in each category will represent Thailand in the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards 2011 (APICTA2011) competition, which will be held at Pattaya in November.
