Lenovo launches IdeaPad and ThinkPad tablets
Lenovo today announced the first three devices in its tablet family - the sleek and stylish IdeaPad Tablet K1 for consumers, and the robust ThinkPad Tablet for business customers.
The new Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1 and ThinkPad Tablet are the company's first mobile internet devices featuring the Android 3.1 platform, which is supported by over 250,000 apps.
"We are excited to launch the Lenovo IdeaPad and ThinkPad tablets in Thailand. As media tablets continue to increase in popularity we foresee consumers increasingly adopting them for both personal and business activities. Our tablets offer a full suite of applications and content services such as entertainment-friendly features that are must haves for consumers to enjoy life on the go, and business-friendly features for professionals to enhance productivity while working anywhere and at any time. We provide tablets that cater to different consumers who want to be more productive at work and in life," said Jeerawut Wongpimonporn, country general manager, Lenovo Thailand.
The ThinkPad Tablet combines the media and entertainment experience of the IdeaPad Tablet K1 with the security, reliability and manageability features ThinkPad is known for, to create the first true business-class tablet. Designed as a companion computing device for professionals on the go, the ThinkPad Tablet includes an optional digitizer pen, a full-size USB port, full-size SD card slot, and mini-HDMI for connecting to external projectors and displays, as well as an optional ThinkPad quality Keyboard Folio Case with optical TrackPoint.
Lenovo's 32GB IdeaPad Tablet K1 WiFi version will be available in Thailand for Bt16,990 in September/October. The 32GB IdeaPad Tablet K1 WiFi/3G will be available in October.
The 64GB, 32GB ThinkPad Tablets WiFi/3G will become available in end-September 2011 and its pricing will be advised at a later date.
