Korean electronics giant LG has formed a partnership with the Faculty of Engineering at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang, to enhance the standard of education there.

LG Electronics (Thailand)'s marketing director Thunyachate Ekvetchavit said the partnership, which would cost LG Bt4 million, would feature three main initiatives.

First will be the establishment of "LG Life's Good Scholarships", which will be awarded to outstanding master's-degree students in engineering at KMITL, with no commitment. The scholarships will have a combined value of Bt800,000 per year.

The partnership will also construct an innovative, state-of-the-art teaching space at the institute to be called the LG Auditorium. It will be equipped with LG products to create a stimulating learning environment for students.

The third initiative will be the establishment of the first ever LG Innovation and Knowledge Centre, designed to enrich university life by offering opportunities for all of KMITL's students to interact with LG technology.

"We believe that this partnership will develop the capacity of talented students and help them to fulfill their potential and become valuable contributors to the industry and to the technological advancement of the country," Thunyachate said.

The dean of KMITL's Faculty of Engineering, Assoc Professor Suchatvee Suwansawat, said that the partnership would help the faculty to increase the skills and potential of students and enable them to become tomorrow's leaders in technology.
